Rachel Castillero is a friend of mine. She is also a friend of Carleigh’s. Rachel referred us to Carleigh, Carleigh booked us and wala here we are at this amazing event. Rachel was also one of the Bridesmaids, so we got to enjoy hang time with the Castillero’s as well.
I shot Andy and Carleigh’s engagement session last October in San Francisco. Immediately I knew this couple had so much class and I loved working with them in the big city, even if it was raining!
This whole year has been building up to this event and the planning was perfect. They did an amazing job thinking of every last detail. Everything down to the menus (of course designed by the amazing Studio Castillero), were designed with the same theme. Pink and black were the colors flowing throughout the entire day. Carleigh was a beautiful bride and the Bridal party was the largest one we have shot yet (20 total). It was a beautiful ceremony with a heck of a reception party!
Andy and Carleigh, thank you. It was so awesome to work with you both and we had such a great time!
Enjoy!

These shoes were adorable!

Isn’t this a great idea to replace the typical pillow?

Love this shot Brett captured in the limo with the guys.

And this shot with the flare.

Carleigh has some of the most beautiful eyes I have seen. Isn’t she beautiful?!

I told you I loved the shoes.

Carleigh really wanted pictures at the bar in the lobby so we asked everyone there to momentarily sit somewhere else. Who could resist such a beautiful group of ladies?

Here comes the Bride…

I loved this moment when Carleigh’s sister was helping with the flower girl during the ceremony.

22 people total!

Isn’t this an adorable cake?

The guys really got into the garter toss.

I just had to throw this picture in there of Rico and Rachel cuttin’ a rug on the dance floor. They did not stop the entire night.

You might remember their engagements on the USS Midway. From day one of meeting Marie and Joe we fell in love with them. They are creative, funny, delightful and spunky. He is Italian, she is Philipino. He is a pilot. She loves Star Wars and when I say loves, I mean LOVES. They both love animals. The entire wedding day successfully incorporated all of these elements to make an amazing celebration. Their wedding took place at the St. Gregory the Great Catholic church and the reception was held at the Zoofari place at the San Diego Zoo.
It was so fun to combine these two families together as they all were on the dance floor the ENTIRE time. Joe and Marie also opted to have a photobooth which was great fun for everyone especially after a couple of drinks.
And wait till you see how Star Wars kept showing up.
Joe and Marie – Thank you. We had such a FUN time with you and your family on your special day! You are an awesome couple and we still have an open dinner date with you!
To everyone else – enjoy!
These are seriously the most amazing shoes on a Bride I have seen – Michael Kors everyone and in animal print to go with the Zoo theme! She wore these things the ENTIRE day!

Going to the chapel and I’m gonna get ready…
the dome in the reflection is the church where they got married.

Moments before the ceremony.

An amazing church with sunlight pouring over them at the alter – beautiful.

Yay!!!!

This was taken off of the Monkey trail… so fun.

Walking through the Zoo, so much fun.

And the reception begins – enter Star Wars…

The first dance was very special. It started out a slow dance, Bride and Groom enjoying the moment… when out of no where!!!

Darth Vader appears (Bride’s brother) Lightsabers are drawn and a battle begins.
The Bride gets in on the action as the Groom falls injured to the floor.

The Bride saves the day… Oh no… but wait – Darth Vader still lives….
The power of two becoming one – LOVE WINS!!!! It was an amazing show!
Then the Zoo brought in an animal show just for the wedding guests. the Joe and Marie had specially requested snakes.
The dancing was great, the party was fun and I could show more of those, but instead I would like to show some photobooth pictures to show you how much fun it is.

This little girl LOVED the photo booth. Adorable!

And this guy jumped in and started doing killer dance moves.

Yup, we got in there too. This is us doing our orangutan move from the Engagement shoot… or karate kid move…. or prowling tigers… open for interpretation.
Thanks again Joe and Marie – We had a BLAST!!!!

WONDERFUL! BEAUTIFUL! You captured the event and you captured them perfectly! I love ALL of the pictures, especially that close up shot of Carleigh. What a beautiful bride!!!!! Wonderful job Faulknor dream team, you rocked it as always. You even got some good shots of me (which is difficult). I must say, you made me, and the other bridesmaids, feel totally comfortable in front of the camera. Thank you for putting us camera shy folks at ease. You were a pleasure to work with!
