It is pouring rain outside this Tuesday morning, which would usually really bother me – I have never been a huge fan of rain. But, given the fact that it is the Christmas season and I am longing to cozy up with a hot cup of hot chocolate by the fire, I am grateful for the rain.
This Christmas is extra special because it is North’s first Christmas! We are discovering that Christmas is completely different when you are a parent. All of the sudden, we got extremely excited to buy a ton of gifts for North and wrap them all up even though we all know that his favorite gift will be the wrapping paper. But still, the thought of it is so exciting to the point where I (Emily) have gotten a little carried away and Brett has had to calm me down a bit! All that to say, I have really enjoyed this month leading up to Christmas even with all of the work yet to be done, it has been a very fun and rewarding month.
Now, putting Christmas aside for a moment, we wanted to share with you with a super sweet and romantic engagement session we did with Matt and Lauren (not to be mistaken for this Matt and Lauren!). We could not be more excited for this couple’s wedding next summer. They are a darling couple with great style which was evident in the props and outfits they brought to their session. (note to Brides and Grooms – props are a great way to help express your personality as a couple and can be super fun to incorporate.) Matt and Lauren are head over heals in love with one another and of course we love capturing that! One more thing we love about them – in a world inundated with iphones – they join Brett in being DROID users! (don’t get us wrong, we LOVE our Apple products too!) With all that said, I will let the photos do the rest of the talking.

Can I just start this blog posting by saying how much we love Derek and Nicci? Well yes, yes I can. We just love Derek and Nicci! We have had so much fun with them at both their frisky engagement session and their wedding, and all our interactions in between. Derek and Nicci – it’s time to get together for dinner, k?! We miss you!
This couple just bleeds San Diego! Not only did they get married in Coronado, they also live there! They are die hard Chargers fans and frequent the home games. Their engagement photos were taken at the Del Mar fairgrounds – a place where they have made many memories together with both the fair and horse races. These new friends of ours definitely know how to enjoy life in San Diego.
What was amazing about these two is how loving, kind and attentive they were to all of their guests – friends and family AND their vendors. They took time during the reception to thank each and every vendor that served them on that day. They are just a remarkable couple that we are so honored to call our friends.
Derek and Nicci – YOU are amazing and we thank YOU for allowing us to capture your awesome wedding. We love the friends we have made in you and can’t wait to see you soon!
