Hello Wedding Season. You and us are gonna be great friends until November. For some reason we really loaded the second half of the year with a ton of weddings. We haven’t yet tried 5 hour energy, but have a feeling that we just might with the busy weekend we have coming up! But it’s gonna be awesome! We love what we do. We love who we do it for. And we really love pressing that shutter button on our black canon cameras – a lot!
Today we are sharing JP and Holly’s engagement session – at which we had a BLAST. These two know how to make each other laugh, which is definitely one of the most important things in marriage to make it strong so JP and Holly are off to a VERY good start. We had so much fun capturing their friendship and genuine adoration for one another. They requested a more rustic shoot for their engagement session. Maybe it’s because Brett grew up in between one town of 400 people, and another of 800 people, and has rustic in his blood, but we were stoked when they asked for this look! So how do you pull of rustic in the middle of urban San Diego? Here’s how. Enjoy!

Happy Monday everyone! Yes, I said Monday. None of this Tuesday or Wednesday blog posting business! Yup, that’s what happens when we have a rare weekend off. Yup completely off. It was so weird to enjoy a weekend like a normal M-F, 9-5 type of person. We love being self employed, working from home and all that jazz, but to have weekends off is just a beautiful thing! We got out of the house and enjoyed some of the places in San Diego that we just really should have explored a long time ago! For example, yesterday we took North on his first hike and explored Torrey Pines State Park. What you ask, we have never done that before? Nope. Totally embarrassing right?! And that part about North hiking wasn’t totally accurate, he more or less rode in a chariot strapped to Brett’s back and told us stories. Stories that all were all variations on ‘da da dada, da dadadada’. It was quite fitting for Fathers day and Brett ate it up.
A couple of weeks ago we got the chance to hang out with Ernesto and Christen in South Park. Yeah, we’ve shot there several times, but we love it there and have fun looking for new hidden places to shoot. We were particularly excited about this shoot as we LOVE shooting friends, coworkers, family, etc of past clients – and Christen just so happens to be a coworker of the lovely Melissa blogged earlier this year. I also need to mention that Christen surprised us at the start of the shoot by announcing that she was quite sick and really not feeling well. But she was dedicated and really wanted to do the shoot that day. Well Christen, not only are you a trooper, but you rocked it girl! There is no sign that you were under the weather in your photos and you just look fantastic and full of joy (which joy and sick don’t go well in our household!). Ernesto and Christen – we had so much fun with you and we can’t wait for your wedding this fall!!!
